Mostly Used Products of 2017

Hello everyone! I hope you guys had a fantastic holiday. I cannot believe that it is 2018! I feel like I am getting old too quick. 2017 was not a good year for me. It wasn’t entirely bad but because of my back problem, things were quite difficult. I had up and down days. But I am thankful enough to be surrounded by loving people that supported me. My family and friends, thank you for being there.

Every day I miss my job as a nurse. It felt like my life is incomplete. From running around looking after patients, dealing with difficult families, working with my co-workers and doctors. Being able to help sick people. The adrenaline rush when we had emergencies and everything about nursing! Especially earning my own money as well. My plans and my dream was held back due to unexpected circumstances. It was hard, physically and mentally. But like I said, I am thankful for my family and friends that supported me, without them I would be entirely broken.

Well, well, drama isn’t it. Enough of it! Haha

I was thinking few days ago, what were the products that I kept using for the entire 2017. And I have few that I had been in love and continually using.

Let’s start with:

  • MARIO BADESCU Special Cucumber Lotion

This has always been in my skin care regime. I have been using this toner for years. Its gentle on my skin and this is suitable for combination and oily skin.

P1000033

  • HOURGLASS Veil Mineral Primer

This is an oil free primer with broad spectrum spf 15. This is my HG primer, and yes, I try different primers but if there is an event or party to attend, this is my trusted one. It blurs and imperfection and pores. My foundation, any foundation rather, goes on smoothly and makes them last long. This is a one hefty primer but a little goes a long way.

  • FENTY BEAUTY Pro filt’r instant retouch primer

I did buy the foundation and I thought it would be better to try it with the primer that was advertised with it. This primer feels hydrating on my skin. It feels soft when it sets rather than dry-matte to which some primer does. I really like to use this one daily where I don’t want to use foundation but I will conceal some imperfections and under my eyes. Or on some days that I want to use only loose powder and buff it all over my face. I don’t think this is “a must” primer. There are plenty affordable primers that do the same thing or even performs better.

  • CINEMA SECRETS Ultimate foundation 5 in 1 Pro Palette 300 Series

I don’t really know why I bought this. I was meant to only get the brush cleaner of the line but I saw this and I just said to myself, why not. This is surprisingly good, and I’m glad I bought it. I used less foundation since last year or maybe 2 years ago. And being a mom of two kids, my makeup regime time became less. So, I needed a quick fix and this solved my problem. I used this on my under eyes, around my nose area to cover any redness and anything that needs concealing. Then I used powder to set and I’m done. The texture of this aren’t drying, it has a light to full coverage that gives a natural matte finish. There are five shades in one compact that are customisable according to your desire shade.

  • MUFE Ultra HD foundation

This is the foundation that I know I would look better on events, parties etc. I like how it looks on my skin and I tend to grab this than my Too Faced Born This Way foundation, which I also like.

  • BARE MINERALS BARESKIN concealer

My tried and tested concealer was the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer but I ran out of it and I had this in my drawer waiting to be opened. This is good if you like a light coverage due to its finishes being a serum. I quite enjoyed this.

P1000040

  • BENEFIT Erase Paste

I used this on me under eyes as colour correcting. This does a great job correcting my dark circles and a little goes a long well.

P1000042

  • FENTY BEAUTY INVISIMATTE Blotting powder

    • This is a great blotting powder. It is compact, travel friendly and does the job. This is always in my bag on-the-go.
  • RIMMEL STAY MATTE pressed powder

If you are looking for an affordable matte powder, this is the one. I use the transparent colour and I am obsessed. It keeps my oil at bay and it is great for the price. What I do is I wait for 50%off sale at Priceline and I buy few and stock them in my drawer.

P1000043

  • NYX EYESHADOW BASE

I don’t wear too much eyeshadow because I stay at home daily so there’s no need for that. But I do collect them – that’s what a make-up hoarder does. Guilty here! I use this base whenever I need to use eyeshadow. I really like shadow insurance by Too Faced and although they are different in textures, NYX is good if you are on a budget.

  • MORPHE x JACLYN HILL

This may not be a surprise to most people. So much hyped and popularity. So, whenever I want to use some colours on my eyes, I tend to grab this a lot. You have every colour that you may want to use in this palette. From natural look, grunge look, bold look, colourful look ….any look haha! Versatile palette I must say. It was hard getting this though when it was first launched. I was lucky hehe.

P1000044

  • BENEFIT ROLLER LASH MASCARA

Another fact about me: I struggle with curling my lash. It hurts and no matter how I try, I always make mistakes. I have the Asian lash that is so stubborn it won’t curl. With this mascara, it was easy for me to use and I find this doesn’t make me look like a panda. It gives length and volume. I wish it was easy for me to put on faux lashes. Another fact: I don’t know how to. Haha!

  • MAC Blacktrack Fluidline Eyeliner

This is my trusted eyeliner, because I know this would not fail me at all. Very long lasting and this was featured in one of my posted blog.

  • MARC JACOBS EYELINER

I got this as an extra item at Sephora and this glides on smoothly and the colour is very pigmented. I use this on my waterline whenever I need to.

P1000045

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo Powder and Tinted Brow Gel

This is HANDS DOWN my HOLY GRAIL eyebrow products! I have been using this for over 5 years now and I never look back. I would try different brow products from time to time out of curiosity but nothing I have found compares to ABH products yet. I use the duo powder with the MAC 208 & 266 brushes or ABH #7 brush. Nothing beats these brushes yet.

P1000046

  • HOURGLASS LUMINOUS LIGHT AMBIENT LIGHTING POWDER

This is the only highlighting powder that I use. It gives my skin a natural glow without blinding your eyes. Hahaha

  • ESSENCE CONTOUR PALETTE

I have found this palette maybe few months ago and boy I got hooked. I used to use my Laura Mercier Matte Radiance bronzer which by the way a good one as well and I would recommend. Also Benefit Hoola bronzer. These two are also great and I still use them but I noticed that I tend to grab the Essence palette. Its affordable and great.

  • NARS Blush in MADLY

Like foundations, I am also a blushes hoarder. I love Chanel blushes and I have collections. It was hard to choose because I love all my blushes and I am just choosing this one because this is what I tend to use most of the time. Why? because this is so natural looking. This pairs with any look. When I don’t know what to use and I’m in a hurry, this is what I grab. Or my MAC blush in MOCHA.

P1000047

  • When it comes to my lips, I use my MAC lipstick in nude/pink/brown tone and pair them with my MAC lip liner in Soar and Spice.
  • Soap and glory plumping gloss I use before any lipsticks. This does not give the most plumping lips but I like it just to prime my lips while I do my makeup and this makes my lipstick glides on smoothly.
  • BURT’S BEES Ultra conditioning lip balm – I used this when I had severe chapped lips and this works wonders on my lips.
  • CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK INTENSE Moisturising lip colour balm- I use this on the go. Very moisturising and the shade 01 Curviest Caramel is a perfect YLBB.

P1000048

  • SIMPLE KIND TO SKIN WIPES

    • I like to use this at the end of the day when I am about to take my makeup off. Then I use gentle cleanser to wash off any dirt. I always clean my face twice before my skincare regime. I don’t skip this method at all. I want to make sure that I take off any makeup so I my pores does not clog. I don’t have a picture clip here but I also use my clarasonic Mia 2. The best thing I’ve ever had. hehe.

So what are your most used products of 2017? please comment down below and share.

Thanks for reading!!! I hope we all have a great 2018!!!

Nattynoo xoxo
