Diorskin Star Foundation in 301 Sand

DIORSKIN STAR FOUNDATION in 301 SAND

Hello Sunshines!!! This is another instalment from my foundation rediscovery series. This time I found the Diorskin Star Foundation in my stash.

There’s a little story, This was crazy, but on the weekend after my work. I was looking for another foundation from another brand and I picked Dior. I purchased the Dior Forever. Then I went on another store on the same day and they were promoting the newest released foundation which was the Dior Star. I confessed that I was and (still am a foundation hoarder), I didn’t hesitate and I purchased this on the spot. Crazy, right? I had work at that time so I thought, why not? I worked my butt off. That was always my reason haha!

Enough of the short story there and will get on the foundation review. Before, I knew I was fond of this foundation but will put it again to the test.

Short description of the product:

“Inspired by the professional illuminating techniques and expertise of its makeup artists, Dior invents Diorskin Star, its 1st brightening foundation: a weightless fluid capable of recreating the spectacular and perfecting light of Dior’s studios.”

– The complexion is instantly more luminous and visibly evener.
A new generation of hollow silica beads captures and diffuses light in a correcting halo with no shine. At the same time, colour-filter pigments neutralize colour imbalances to recreate the perfect light.
– The complexion is clarified with a purer, more dazzling and long-lasting light.
Anti-“”light-trap”” skincare ingredients help reduce the appearance of dark areas, pigment spots and redness.

ON APPLICATION

I moisturised and primed my face just the usual routine. I used a damped beauty blender to apply the foundation. I was impressed, it blended well on my skin and when I looked at the mirror my skin looked brightened and flawless. I also used the Diorskin Star concealer in 002 beige for under my eyes and set it with my Napoleon Perdis mattifying mineral primer loose powder. The concealer blended well with the foundation with no problem. Then I proceeded with my bronzer/contour, blush and highlighter. But this time I used a liquid highlighter the Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer which I am currently obsessed with. Upon applying it, it was kind of difficult for me to blend. It disturbed the foundation which I was not impress. It could be the liquid highlighter were not compatible with the foundation. It was a bit splotchy and I had to make sure it blended well. So, I finished my makeup, set it and done! It looked well on the mirror. The foundation was semi-matte finish not luminous.

3 hours after, the foundation went down the hill from then.

  • Splotchy on my chin
  • I could see the textures on my cheeks
  • It accentuated my pores! it didn’t look good at all
  • Under eyes looked dry, I could see the fine lines.
  • But, my face didn’t look oily it actually looked like the foundation was just sitting on my face caking up in the crevices of my nose and my chin.

At the end of the day, my blush and bronzer were faded. I didn’t have any foundation around my forehead. Oil were seeping through.

MY VERDICT

No! Just no. I mean I was disappointed and I would not repurchase this and the concealer. Both did not do well on my skin.

If this foundation worked on you, I am glad it did. But for me it just didn’t.

Has anyone tried this? Let me know down below of what you think of it.
