NARS SHEER GLOW in STROMBOLI

NARS SHEER GLOW in Stromboli

As i mentioned on my “About”, I have collected quite a few makeups from bases, eyes, eyebrows, cheeks and lip products. Some i have used and were left below my drawer and I kept buying beauty products until they all piled up and forgotten!!. Some were used that I am going to focus on reviewing first then after that I will review other unopened stuffs.

Last time I reviewed was Estee Lauder Double Wear and this time will be Nars Sheer Glow. I am thinking of concept name for this, what do you think guys? “Foundation Re-discovery Series” ?? would that be appropriate?? Please leave a comment down below.

So today, it is Nars Sheer Glow in Stromboli. To be honest I was not interested buying this before because of the “glow” label. I have combo/oily skin and glow should stay away from me. But I see heaps of reviews about this with people with combo/oily skin and they loved it.Im pretty sure I didn’t like it when I wore it at work. Let’s see how it works on me again.fullsizeoutput_8d

On http://mecca.com.au website to which where I purchased this product. Nars claims that this foundation is:

it gives immediate hydration
Evens out skin tone
Leaves the skin brighter and more radiant
Provides all-day weightless and build able coverage, with a natural radiant finish
If used daily, your skin’s texture and tone improves becoming softer, smoother and more luminous.
Suitable for normal to dry skin

Packaging:

It comes in a glass with no pump. You have to purchase the pump separately. And being a glass it is prone of breaking if you drop it. In my case, I accidentally dropped it and the pump split. Lucky the glass didn’t break!

My Experienced:

I prepped my skin with moisturiser and hourglass mineral veil primer. I used the Etude House Secret Brush 121 Skin. The foundation glided on very well, it wasn’t hard to blend. It didn’t look totally luminous at all in my opinion. It looked very natural. I used the shade Medium 3 Stromboli which in Mecca website described as ‘for darker tanned, olive and asian complexions with golden undertones”.
It looked good but I noticed that some foundation builded up in between the nose, you know the crevices/that folds in between. I don’t know the term haha. It did clung on my dried healing pimple on the left side of my face. I felt like I had to set my face with a powder, so I did with Nars translucent pressed powder. I felt like I had to because I had the feeling the foundation won’t last half day.

So,..yeah I’m on the fence about this. I don’t know if I like it. I cannot compare this to EL double wear as they are different formula and purpose I guess. Maybe I need to play around with it I guess. But this foundation I think doesn’t stay long on my face longer than I want. Even in 5 hrs of wear I could see the separation of the foundation and my face felt oily..it was oily on my forehead, around my nose and my chin on that time frame. After nearly 9hrs of wear, my face felt so greasy and as you could see in the picture that my face was oily and my face was a mess.

If you are interested in this product, maybe go to one of the Mecca stores and ask for assistance and samples, as this product is pricey.
